I will begin to add some of the art work created by my students during the Art Experiences. Let’s start with the fused/hot glass class from the recent February class. Judy looks on as SJ explains different techniques to Jennifer, my daughter, and Heather who is my niece and my assistant. We gave each student two pieces of ordinary window glass, ground up glass in varying chunk sizes called frit, a variety of glass colors, inclusions such as copper wire and let them just play!

Jennifer’s piece has two layers of glass, with copper wire inclusions between the layers and glass color fused between the layers and on the top layer. I use my old ceramic kiln that uses cones to fire the smaller pieces like this, for larger panels such as those shown under Magazines we use SJ’s larger, digital kiln.
